Use the Text tool to generate an image containing a stylized graphic based on text you provide.

Text entry field for the Text tool plus three AI-generated text images that feature the text provided.

Note: The Text tool turns text into an image. It is not for adding text to an existing image and it does not work as a prompt (for that, use the Create any image tool).

In this article, we provide step-by-step instructions for using the Text tool on the Web App. To learn more about the Text tool and its settings, see How to use the Text tool.

Steps (Web App)

To use the Text tool follow the instructions below (divided into separate stages).

Stage 1: Access the Text tool

  1. Select the Space you want to work in.

  2. Select AI tools.

  3. Select Text.

Stage 2: Choose your settings and generate

  1. Use the settings to enter the text you want, choose a style and size. For details on each setting, see How to use the Text tool.

  2. Select Generate. Each generation uses AI credits.
Photoroom generates 2 images based on the text you provided.

  3. [Optional] To try alternatives, change any setting and select Generate again.

To create more variations from a generated image, select its context menu and use the Variations or Edit with AI options. The context menu options are shared across AI tools and you can learn about them in Context menu options for AI tools.

Stage 3: Review, edit, and save

  1. Select a generated image to open the review and edit screen.

  2. Review the result, make any final changes, or open it in the main editor for manual edits such as adding text or graphics.

For information on everything you can do here, see Review and edit an AI image.

  3. When you are happy with the image, save it.

You can now use your downloaded file in other applications. Your design is available in the Space's Designs in Photoroom.
