Unleash your creativity with Photoroom and get the AI to create any background you want! You can either enter a text description or choose an image to use as inspiration and then the AI will create the background for you.

Note: As the backgrounds are generated by AI, the quality of results may vary (especially for human hands, faces, and animals). The Photoroom team are working hard to continue improving the AI.

On iPhone and iPad

To create your own AI background, use a text prompt or an image prompt.

There are two types of text prompt:

  • Assisted prompt, where Photoroom provides a structure for you to follow, with suggestions.

  • Manual prompt, where you are free to describe the scene you want.

If you prefer, you can use an image prompt, where you upload your reference image, or use an image from Unsplash. The AI uses that image as inspiration.

Assisted prompt

To use an assisted prompt on iPhone or iPad:

  3. Select AI Backgrounds.

  4. Select Create a background.

  5. Make sure the Assisted tab is selected.

  8. Select Generate Images.

The AI creates 4 suggested images. You can choose one of those or select Generate 4 more to create some more. You can also change your prompt at the top, if needed.

  10. [Optional] Use the editing settings to make further changes to the design.

  11. Select Export. Use the export options to save and share your image.
