Photoroom

Photoroom uses AI models to interpret your imported photos and prompts to generate suitable backgrounds. There are several AI models available and you can choose which one to use:

- Studio HD (newest)
- Studio
- v3
- v2 (oldest)

Newer models produce higher-quality, more responsive images but take longer to generate and may be too demanding on older devices. Older models generate images faster but at lower resolution.

You can find details about each of the AI models below.

Note: Over time, we may add newer models and remove older models.

Typical generation time: Approximately 10 seconds.

Default model for: Web App users on Free or Pro.

Typical generation time: Approximately 5 seconds.

Typical generation time: Less than 1 second.

Switch to a different AI Model for AI Backgrounds

When you use AI Backgrounds, select the option for the AI model and then choose a different model from the list.
