With PhotoRoom's Custom Prompts feature, you can describe the background that you want the AI to create. This gives you greater control over your backgrounds, as you can unleash your creativity and get the AI to create any background you want.
Custom Prompts is currently only available in English.

Note: As Instant Backgrounds are generated by AI, results may vary (especially for human hands, faces, and animals). The PhotoRoom team is working hard on improving the AI for future releases.
Note: The Web App (desktop) version of PhotoRoom has Image Guidance as well as Custom Prompts. With Image Guidance, you can set the AI to create an Instant Background that is inspired by an existing image.
On iPhone, iPad and Android
There are two different ways to create custom prompts for AI-generated Instant Backgrounds. You can either use:
Assisted prompts, where PhotoRoom provides a structure for you to follow, with suggestions.
Manual prompts, where you are free to describe the scene you want.
Assisted prompts
To use an assisted prompt:

On the Create page, select Instant Backgrounds and then choose an image to upload.
Alternatively, you can edit one of your existing designs from Your Content.Select Backgrounds. (This step only applies if you are editing an existing design).
Select the "pencil" icon next to Instant Backgrounds.
Make sure the Assisted tab is selected.
In the Your subject on field, enter a short description of the surface that the subject of your image should be on.
In the With ... in the background field, enter a short description of the background that you want.
Select Generate Images.
The AI creates 4 suggested images. You can choose one of those or select Generate 4 more to create some more.Select the image you want to use.
Select the export icon in the top corner and then choose how you want to save the image.
Select Done.
Manual prompts
To use a manual prompt:

On the Create page, select Instant Backgrounds and then choose an image to upload.
Alternatively, you can edit one of your existing designs from Your Content.Select Backgrounds. (This step only applies if you are editing an existing design).
Select the "pencil" icon next to Instant Backgrounds.
Select the Manual tab.
In the Prompt field, enter a description of the scene you want to create.
This step is optional. Turn on Add negative prompt and then enter a short description of any things you don't want the AI to include in the image. For example, "dark" to make sure the image is light.
Select Generate Images.
The AI creates 4 suggested images. You can choose one of those or select Generate 4 more to create some more.
You can also select Change size (Resize on Android) to alter the size of the image.Select the image you want to use.
Select the export icon in the top corner and then choose how you want to save the image.
Select Done.
On the Web App
There are three different ways to create AI-generated Instant Backgrounds. You can either use:
Assisted prompts, where PhotoRoom provides a structure for you to follow, with suggestions.
Manual prompts, where you are free to describe the scene you want.
Image guidance, where you can upload a photo or choose a photo from Unsplash and the AI will use that as inspiration for a new image.

Image guidance
The Web App has an image guidance feature where you can get AI to create an image based on an existing image. You can upload the guidance image or you can search for one in Unsplash.

Use the search box to find a suitable inspiration image in Unsplash.

Select Download to download a copy of the image. PhotoRoom saves the image in Your Content under Designs too.
