On iOS and Android, you can use the Describe a change feature to get Photoroom to make alterations to AI-generated images. It's a quick and easy way to fine-tune AI-generated images so that they are ideal for your projects.
For example, here we started with an AI-generated image of a blue chair with yellow cushions. We then used Describe a change to create a similar image but with red cushions.
Describe a change is not available on the Web App version of Photoroom. However, the Web App has a similar feature called Change something (see Make a change to an AI-generated image with "Change something").
On iPhone and iPad
Describe a change is available for most AI Tools on iOS, with the exception of the Image Transformation Tools. Here, we show how to use it with the Product photography feature. The same principles apply when you use it with other AI tools: you get the AI to generate an image, select the context menu for the image, select Describe a change and then describe the changes you want.
Select Content.
Select the workspace you want to work in.
Select AI Tools.
Select the AI tool that you want to use.
For the next step, you will need some AI generated images. To prepare for that, you can either:
Use the AI tool to generate images. Depending on the tool, you will either enter a prompt (text description) or both upload an image and enter a prompt.
Use one of the previously generated images. These are shown when you access the AI tool.
Select the context menu ( ... ) for the image you want to use and then select Describe a change.
Describe a change is available for images generated by most AI tools. It is not supported by the Image Transformation Tools, such as Virtual Model and Product Beautifier, so if you don't see the option, it is likely due to that.
Enter a text description of the changes you want the AI to make. For example, "Change the color of the jacket to blue" or "Remove the birds from the background".
Select the purple and white arrow button to generate the new image.
The AI will generate some new images and will use your changes as part of a new prompt. The accuracy of the results can vary depending on how detailed your prompt is and how the AI interprets your image.
Try using more detailed prompts to get better results.
When you have an image you are happy with, select it.
Either:
Select Use image to open the image as a new design in the editor.
Use the other options to further adjust the image before Photoroom turns it into a design. These include Remove Background and Change something.§
[Optional] Use the editing tools to make any extra changes, such as adding text or graphics.
[Optional] Select Export to download your design as an image file. You can also use the export options to share the image file.
Select X to save your design and exit the editor.
