With Photoroom's Recolor feature, you can quickly create color variants of a product photo. It supports Hex, RGB, and HSL color values so you can use the exact brand color you need.

A red t-shirt with white logo recolored to blue with white logo and again to light blue with dark logo.

At the moment, Recolor is designed for single color products. It may also work well for products have white, gray, or black trims. We hope to support more complex color schemes in the future.

  3. Select Recolor.

If you don't see Recolor, select the See all button to reveal the full list.

  4. Upload your image using the Drop a file or select an image box.

  5. Select the Color and pick a color from the color selector.

To learn about the color selector, see Color selectors (Web App).

  6. Choose a Size from the list.

  7. [Optional] Use the prompt to describe which parts of the image should be recolored.

  8. Select Generate to create a recolored image. Each generation uses AI credits.

  9. [Optional] Repeat steps 6 to 9 inclusive to generate more images.

  10. [Optional] To download a generated image, position the cursor over it and then select its context menu ( ... ) followed by Download.

Stage 2: Generate alternate images and video [optional]

  2. Use the context menu options:

    • Other angles
Use to generate an image showing a different viewpoint.

    • Generate video

    • Download
Use to download the image to your device.

    • Delete
Use to remove the image from the Recolor history.

Stage 3: Final edits and save

When you have an image you are happy with:

  1. Select the image.

  2. [Optional] Use the options to make any further changes:

    • Remove background
Use to keep or remove the background.

Tip: Remove the background if you plan to edit or replace the background, or make changes to the subject in the main editor. This separates the background and subject into different layers, making them easier to edit.

    • Change something
Use a prompt to make changes using AI. This will generate a new image.

    • Retouch
Use to remove parts of the image by blending with the background. Only available when the background is included in the image.

To learn more about Retouch, see Remove parts of an image with Retouch (Web App).

    • Edit cutout
Use to remove or restore parts of a layer. Only available when the background has been removed.

To learn more about Edit cutout, see Remove and restore with Edit cutout (Web App)

    • Resize
Use to change the size and orientation of the image.

  3. [Optional] Select Download to download the image to your device.

  4. Select Use this image to open it in the main editor.

Use the main editor to make any further changes, such as add text or graphics.
To learn about the editing features, see the articles in Features and Tools.

  5. Use Download to store the design as an image file on your device. Enter a name, choose the image format and select Download.

  6. Select Home to save your design and exit the editor.

Note: You can also use Edit with AI to change the color of part of an image or you can change the color manually. For details, see Change the color of part of a layer (Web App).
