Make changes using Edit with AI (iOS)

Learn how to use Edit with AI to make changes using a prompt. iOS.

Photoroom’s Edit with AI feature lets you describe the changes you want to make using a text prompt. Photoroom then generates a new image based on your prompt, the options you select, and the original image.

You can use Edit with AI in two ways:

  • As an AI Tool, where you upload an image and enter a prompt.

  • Inside the editor, where you can apply AI edits while you’re already working on your design.

In this article, we explain how to use Edit with AI on the iOS version of Photoroom.

Availability

Requires AI credits.

Steps: Edit with AI tool

Use the Edit with AI tool when you want to upload an image and edit it.

(Video is edited to reduce AI generation time).

  1. Select AI Tools.

  2. Select Edit with AI.
    ​
    If you can't see the Edit with AI option, select the See <n> more button to display a full list of the tools.
    ​

  3. Upload your photo. Either:

    • Select an image from your Camera roll

    • Take a photo with your device's Camera

    • Select an image from your Files

    • Use Generate to create an image using AI.
      ​

  4. [Optional] Select the image quality:

    • Standard 1k (Pro plan)

    • Advanced 2k (Max plan or above)

    • Premium 4k+ (Ultra plan)
      ​

  5. [Optional] Select the size option and choose the dimensions:

    • Square

    • Portrait (2:3)

    • Landscape (3:2)
      ​

  6. [Optional] Select the brand icon and choose whether you want to Apply brand style. The brand style is a description of your brand that is usually created when you set up your brand kit. If you apply the brand style, it means the description will influence the AI when generating your image.

    ​Important: If you change the brand style description, your changes apply globally. You change the brand description for the entire Space.
    ​

  7. Enter a description of the changes you want in the prompt field and select the arrow button to generate.

    Photoroom will generate one or more images. If you need to make further changes, you can repeat this step (or select the context menu for an image and use the Edit with AI option).
    ​

  8. When you have an image that you are happy with, select it.

  9. [Optional] Use the options to make further changes:
    ​

    • Video
      Create a video from the image using the Video generator.
      ​

    • Other angles
      Create alternative viewpoints of the image.
      ​

    • Edit with AI
      Enter a prompt to describe further changes.
      ​

    • Open in editor
      Open the image in the main editor, where you can add text, graphics, blur effects and more.
      ​

  10. Select Save.
    Photoroom saves your image as a design. It also saves it as an image file on your device.

Steps: Edit with AI on existing images

You can use the Edit with AI feature while editing designs. It is an option in various places, including:

  • Context menus for images that are generated in AI Tools

  • Some layers in the editor

  • Home screen after uploading a photo for a new design.

To use the Edit with AI feature, enter a text description (see Write more effective prompts for AI for tips). Photoroom then regenerates the image and applies the changes you have described.

Note: In some cases, selecting Edit with AI while editing will take you directly to the Edit with AI tool. You can use the tool in the same way as described in the "Steps: Edit with AI tool" section earlier in this article.
