This guide helps you understand where to start, where your designs are stored, and which editors to use in Photoroom.

Note: The numbered labels in the images correspond to the items listed below each screen.

Create: Start here

The Create screen is where most work begins. Use the Create screen to:

  1. View the Space (workspace) or switch to another Space.

  2. Start a new design by uploading a photo.

  3. Search for a template by name.

  4. Select a shortcut to a feature.

  5. Select a shortcut to a new feature.

  6. Access features directly from the sidebar.

Note: The Create screen is also the Home screen. When you select Home on other Photoroom Web App screens, you are taken to the Create screen.

AI Tools: Create with AI

AI Tools generate or modify images using AI. They include Virtual Model, Recolor, and AI Images. For detailed manual edits, use the main editor instead.

Image shows the Create screen. It has numbered labels for the different parts of the screen.

How it works:

  1. Select an AI tool.

  2. Upload or choose an image (where appropriate, not all AI Tools require a starting image).

  3. Adjust the settings or describe what you want.

  4. Generate images.

  5. [Optional] Open the result in the main editor to continue editing.

  6. Download the image to store it offline.

  7. Exit the editor and save in Photoroom.

Each tool has slightly different settings, but most include:

  • A prompt to describe changes

  • Image upload options

  • Size or layout settings.

Tip: You can generate images using AI Tools and then further edit them in the main editor.

Batch: Edit many images at once

Use Batch to apply edits to multiple images in one workflow:

  • Process product photos in bulk

  • Apply the same changes to many images

  • Save time on repetitive editing.

Learn how to use the Batch feature in:

Activity: See the latest updates

Select Activity to see what's been happening in your Spaces. You will get notifications about various events, including invites to join Spaces and feedback provided by your teammates.

Designs: Find and organize your work

The Designs screen is where everything in your Space is stored and managed.

Use it to:

  1. Organize your designs into folders.

  2. Create new designs. When you select Create new, you will be prompted to upload a photo.

  3. Edit existing designs. Select a design to open it in the editor.

Brand kit: Create reusable on-brand content

With Brand Kit, you can create a collection of logos, colors, and other brand identity information. You can then use these in other designs and to influence the prompt on some AI features.

To learn more, see the Brand Kit articles.

Templates: Use your custom templates

Use Templates to work with the custom templates that you or your teammates have created for the Space. You can:

  • Apply a template to an image

  • Apply a template to multiple images in a batch

  • Edit a template.

To learn more, see the Templates articles.

Uploads: Access recently uploaded images

Use the Uploads screen to access your recently uploaded images. You can view them or open them in the editor to make changes.

AI Images: Use recently generated AI images

Use the AI Images screen to access your recent AI-generated images. You can view them or open them in the editor to make changes.

  1. Filter the grid of AI Images by the AI Tool used to create them. For example, select Product Staging to only show images that were made with the Product Staging tool.

  2. Create a new AI image (choose an AI Tool)

  3. Open an existing AI image
