This guide walks you through the most common ways to work in Photoroom on Android. It shows the typical steps for creating and editing designs so you know where to start and what to do next.
You’ll learn the common workflows for:
Creating a new design from a photo
Editing an existing design
Generating an image using AI.
Follow the workflow that matches what you want to do. You can also find example videos and links to articles that provide more detailed instructions.
Note: If you're going to use Batch to edit multiple images at once, the workflow is different. For instructions, see Edit multiple images at once using the Batch feature (Android).
Workflow 1: Create a new design from a photo
To create a simple new design based on a photo, the workflow is:
Space → Home → Start from photo → Template → Edit → Save/Export
Select the Space you want to work in.
Upload a photo as a starting point for your new design. Either:
On the Home screen, select Start from Photo and upload a photo.
On the Content screen, select New design and upload a photo.
Wait for Photoroom to remove the background automatically (recommended).
Select a template for your design. There are many categories to choose from, including Classics, Recent team templates, Listing essentials, and Social essentials.
Use the editor to make changes.
Export your design to store it on your device and in Photoroom.
Workflow 2: Edit an existing design
To edit a design that is saved in a Space, the workflow is:
Space → Content → Designs → Edit → Save/Export
Select the Space that contains the design you want to edit.
Select Content.
Select the design to open it in the editor.
Use the editor to make changes.
Save your design to store it on your device and in Photoroom.
Workflow 3: Generate an AI image
To use an AI Tool to generate an image, the workflow is:
Space → AI Tools → Upload → Settings → Generate → Edit → Save/Export
Some AI Tools need you to upload an image as a starting point.

Select the Space that you want to work in.
Select AI Tools.
If the AI Tool requires an image as a starting point, upload an image.
Use the settings to set your preferences and enter a prompt where available.
Generate one or more images.
[Optional] Use the editor to make further changes.
Export your design to store it on your device and in Photoroom.
