With Photoroom's Batch feature, you can edit multiple images at once. Whether you’re adding stylish backgrounds, resizing images, or including product labels, batch mode helps you create promotional content faster and with less effort.
This guide walks you through all the steps for editing a batch of images on the Android version of Photoroom. Some steps are optional, so you can skip anything that doesn’t fit your workflow.

Create a batch of images [Required]
To create a batch of images on the Android version of Photoroom:
Select the Space you want to work in.
Select Batch.
Select Start new batch.
If you have worked on a batch before, select Resume previous batch to continue.
Select the images you want to include in your batch and select Add 8 images to confirm.
Your selected images will appear in a grid in the batch editor. You’re now ready to start editing your batch.
Apply a template to a batch of images [Optional]
Templates are pre-made designs that can set the canvas size, backgrounds, graphics, and text for your images.
Create a batch of images.
Select Templates.
Select a tab at the top and then choose a template:
From Photoroom - Templates provided by Photoroom
Your Templates - Custom templates created by you or your colleagues.
When you apply a template, any layers marked as replaceable subjects are not added to your images.
Note: To learn about creating your own custom templates, see Create a custom template. If you use the Web App, you can also save a batch image as a template.
Resize a batch of images [Optional]
To change the size of the images in your batch, use Resize.
Create a batch of images.
Select Resize.
Choose a size from the presets or set Custom dimensions.
If the resizing changes how images fit on the canvas, you can reposition them later.
Note: If you resize a batch and then apply a template, the template size overrules the resize setting.
Position images in a batch [Optional]
Use the Position options to set the alignment and padding for your batch of images.
Create a batch of images.
Select Position.
Choose the position for the main object in your photos:
Original - Leaves the position unchanged. You can ignore the remaining steps.
Center - Place the main object in the center of the canvas.
Template - Use the positioning settings from a template (if a template is applied).
This step only applies if you chose Center or Custom.
Turn Ignore padding on cropped sides on or off.
When it is on, Photoroom will not use padding on any images where the subject touches the edge of the canvas.
Turn it off if you want padding to apply to all images.
Use the padding box handles to change the amount of padding for each side. The shaded area is the padding.
Use Align to move the main object to a set position. Choose the position from the list.
Use Scale to set the proportions of the main object.
Fill sizes the object to fill the available space
Fit makes the entire object fit within the available space.
Select the checkmark to confirm.
Create an AI Background for a batch [Optional]
You can use Photoroom's AI to generate background images for your batch. The images will have a similar look and feel, but won't be exactly the same. This is because the AI adapts each background to suit the colors and lighting in each individual image.

Create a batch of images.
Select Background.
Select AI Backgrounds.
Photoroom generates 2 suggested AI Backgrounds.
If you want to use a suggested AI Background, select it and then select Use image. You can ignore the remaining steps.
Either:
Use the prompt field to describe the AI Background you want.
Select Background and choose a theme from the list or search for an inspiration image on Unsplash.
When you have an AI Background that you like, select it and then select Use image.
Use an image as the background for a batch [Optional]
To use a regular static image as the background for a batch of images:
Create a batch of images.
Select Background.
Select Image.
Either:
Upload an image.
Select an image provided by Photoroom. There are various categories to choose from.
Use Search to look for images on Unsplash.
Select the image you want and Photoroom will add it to the background of each image in your batch.
Use a color as the background for a batch [Optional]
You can use a single color as the background for images in a batch:
Create a batch of images.
Select Background.
Either:
Select transparent, white, or black
Select the color wheel and then:
Select a color from one of the palettes. Use the slider to adjust the color.
Enter a hex code in the field at the bottom and then confirm.
Select X or Done.
Apply AI Shadows to a batch of images [Optional]
Add realistic shadows to make your main object look 3D:
Create a batch of images.
Select AI Shadows.
Choose from:
None - No shadow
Soft - Light shadow
Floating - Shadow below object
Hard - Strong, angled shadow.
Select Apply this shadow.
Select X to exit the editor.
Note: AI Shadows cost AI credits.
Edit individual images in a batch [Optional]
You can make custom edits to any image in your batch. For example, you can add text or graphics to an image.
Note: When editing individual images, you get the option to apply the changes to all images in the batch. We recommend you read How does Apply to all work? before you start editing.
Create a batch of images.
Select an image to open it in the editor.
Use the editor options to make changes:
Layers - Move parts of the image behind or in front of other layers.
Insert - Add graphics, photos, and AI-generated content to your image.
Text - Add text or text layers to your image.
Backgrounds - Set a background color, image, or AI Background.
Shadows - Apply an AI Shadow to an image.
Resize - Change the size of an image.
Export - Save an image and export it to your device.
Layer settings - Select any layer to display settings for that layer, such as Cutout, Crop, Retouch, Improve lighting, and Blur.
Either:
Select the back arrow to exit the editor.
Select Next to load the next batch image in the editor.
Important! If you select Next and then make changes, it affects how the Apply to all option works. Apply only uses the changes made to the last edited image.
Choose whether the most recent edits apply to all images in the batch or only the image you edited:
Select Apply to use the most recent edits on all of the images in the batch.
Wait for the notification to close automatically if you only want the changes to apply to the image you edited. Do not select Apply.
Add extra images to a batch [Optional]
To add extra images to a batch:
Select the context menu ( ... ) at the top.
Select + Add images and select the images you want to include.
Delete an image from a batch [Optional]
To delete an image from a batch:
Select the context menu ( ... ) at the top.
Choose Select images and pick the images you want to remove.
Select Delete.
Download a batch of images [Required]
When you have finished editing your images, download them:
Either:
Select Export <n> images to download them all
Select the context menu ( ... ) at the top and then select Select images. Select each image that you want to download and then select Export.
Select:
Save to gallery to save the images to your device's photos.
Share to share the images with your contacts or other apps.
Select X to exit.
