Use Replace to swap a layer for a different image. The new image is added as a layer and the original layer is removed. For example, in the image below, we replaced the clothing model with a different model (we also altered the background color).

Note: If you replace the same layers regularly, consider creating a template instead (see Templates).

On Android

To replace a layer:

  1. Select the Space you want to work in.

  2. Select Content.

  3. Select the design you want to edit.

  4. Select Layers.

  5. Select the layer you want to replace.

  6. Select Replace.

  7. Choose a replacement image. Either:

    • Upload a photo from your Gallery or Files

    • Take a new photo with your device's Camera

    • Generate an image with AI

    • Select an image from one of the categories, such as Cutouts, Shapes, Graphics.

  8. [Optional] Use the editor to make further changes, such as edit the replacement layer or add text, graphics, and other elements.

  9. Select Export to store your design in Photoroom and download it as an image file to your device. There are also options to share your design with others.

  10. Select Done.
