Photoroom offers several tools for removing parts of an image. Each tool is designed for a different type of edit. This article gives a quick overview with links to detailed instructions.


Edit cutout

Use Edit cutout to remove or restore specific parts of a layer. It’s ideal when the background remover removes too much or too little.

Crop a layer

Use Crop to trim the edges of a layer, reducing its height or width.

Retouch a layer

Retouch is an AI tool that removes selected areas and automatically fills the space to keep the image looking natural. Think of it as a combined remove-and-blend feature.

Delete a layer

To remove an entire layer, select it and delete it.
