We have updated the AI model for the AI backgrounds feature. The new model (v3) is more responsive to your prompts and can produce higher quality, more professional images.
Photoroom uses the new v3 model by default. But you can temporarily switch back to the earlier v2 model, if you prefer.
Important information about switching between versions:
If you choose to switch back to v2, you have to choose how long you want to use v2. Choose from 1 day or 1 week.
During the 1 day or 1 week period, you can switch back to v3 at any time.
At the end of the 1 day or 1 week period, Photoroom will switch back to v3 automatically.
You can switch between versions as many times as you like.
When you switch from one version to another, the switch only applies to your device. The switch does not apply cross-platform and does not affect other users in your team.
On iPhone and iPad
Note: You can only switch between AI background versions if your device is running iOS version 5.9.8 or later.
To switch from one version of the AI backgrounds model to another on iPhone and iPad:

On the Create page, select Your Content.
Select Preferences.
Select AI Backgrounds version.
Choose the version you want, either v3 or v2.
This step only applies if you choose v2. Choose the duration for the temporary v2 period:
1 Day
1 Week
Select Preferences and then Back to return to Your Content.
On Android
Note: You can only switch between AI background versions if your device is running Android 4.9.7 (or later).
To switch from one version of the AI backgrounds model to another on Android:

On the Create page, select Your Content.
Select Preferences.
Select AI Backgrounds version.
Choose the version you want, either v3 or v2.
This step only applies if you choose v2. Choose the duration for the temporary v2 period:
1 Day
1 Week
Select Back and then Preferences to return to Your Content.
On Web App
To switch from one version of the AI backgrounds model to another on the web app (desktop) version of Photoroom:

Log in to Photoroom at app.photoroom.com.
Use the workspace selector to choose your personal workspace.
Select Preferences.
Choose the AI backgrounds version you want, either v3 or v2.
This step only applies if you choose v2. Choose 1 day or 1 week as the duration for the temporary v2 period and then select Confirm.
If you chose v2, Photoroom will use version 2 until the end of the time period you selected. It will then switch back to version 3 automatically. Alternatively, you can switch back to version 3 manually, at any time.
To switch back to version 3, repeat steps 1 to 4 inclusive, and choose v3.
