If you subscribed to Photoroom on the Google Play Store, you can use your Android device to:
Upgrade your Photoroom account
Downgrade your Photoroom account
Change from weekly to annual payments
Change from annual to weekly payments.
Note: If you want to end your subscription rather than change it, see Cancel your subscription.
Upgrade to Pro or Max
To upgrade your plan follow the instructions below. The video shows an upgrade from Pro to Max, but you can use a similar technique to upgrade from free to Pro.
Log in to Photoroom on your Android device.
Select the plan badge in the top corner. Depending on your current plan, it shows Get Pro, Pro, or Max.
Select the plan you want to subscribe to (Pro or Max).
Choose the payment plan you want, Weekly or Yearly.
Select Continue.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your payment and start the subscription.
If you upgrade from Pro to Max, we deduct any remaining time on your Pro subscription from the cost of the Max subscription. The value remaining on your Pro subscription is pro-rated.

Please note, the prices used below are for example purposes only and do not reflect accurate pricing for Photoroom subscriptions.
January 1st 2025:
You pay $100 for a yearly Pro subscription.
July 1st 2025:
You upgrade from yearly Pro to yearly Max ($300 per year).
You get the Max plan immediately.
Your billing cycle remains the same. It will end/renew on Jan 1st 2025.
You pay $100.
This is calculated as:
$150 for 6 months of Max (July 1st 2025 to Jan 1st 2026)
$50 refund for the 6 months remaining on Pro that you have already paid.
Total due: $100.
January 1st 2026:
You are charged $300 for the renewal of the yearly Max subscription.
Downgrade from Max to Pro
To downgrade from Max to Pro on Android, you need to cancel your subscription and then wait for the Max subscription to expire. At that point, your account uses the free plan again and from there you can upgrade to Pro.
When the remaining time on your Max subscription expires, you will be switched to the free plan.
When you are on the free plan, log in to Photoroom.
Select the Get Pro badge.
Select Pro.
Select the Weekly plan or Yearly plan.
Follow the on-screen instructions to make your payment.
Example:
March 1st 2025:
You buy a yearly Max subscription.
August 1st 2025:
You cancel your Max subscription. It will be canceled at the end of the plan.
March 1st 2026:
Your Max subscription ends. You are switched to the free plan.
March 1st 2026:
You upgrade from free to a yearly Pro subscription. You are billed for 1 year of Pro.
Downgrade to the free plan
To downgrade from Max or Pro to free, you need to Cancel your subscription.
When the remaining time on your subscription expires, you will be switched to the free plan.
Example:
March 1st 2025:
You buy a yearly Max subscription.
August 1st 2025:
You cancel your Max subscription. It will be canceled at the end of the plan.
March 1st 2026:
Your Max subscription ends. You are switched to the free plan.
Change your weekly or yearly payments
You can change your subscription term from:
Weekly to yearly
Yearly to weekly.
In both cases, you need to cancel your subscription and then change your payment term when the subscription ends.
When the remaining time on your Pro or Max subscription expires, you will be switched to the free plan.
When you are on the free plan, log in to Photoroom.
Select the Get Pro badge.
Select Pro or Max, depending on which plan you want.
Select the Weekly plan or Yearly plan.
Follow the on-screen instructions to make your payment.
Example:
March 1st 2025:
You buy a weekly Pro subscription.
March 3rd 2025:
You cancel your Pro subscription. It will be canceled at the end of the plan.
March 7th 2025:
Your Pro subscription ends. You are switched to the free plan.
March 7th 2025:
You choose to upgrade from free to a yearly Pro subscription. You are billed for 1 year of Pro.
