If you subscribed to Photoroom on the App Store, you can use your Apple device to:

  • Upgrade your Photoroom account

  • Downgrade your Photoroom account

  • Change from weekly to annual payments

  • Change from annual to weekly payments.

Important: To downgrade, you must cancel your subscription. When the subscription expires, you are switched to the free plan and you can upgrade from there, if you wish.

Upgrade to Pro or Max

To upgrade your plan follow the instructions below. The video shows upgrading from Pro to Max but you can use the same technique to upgrade from free to Pro.

  1. Log in to Photoroom on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Select the plan badge in the top corner. Depending on your current plan, it shows Get Pro, Pro, or Max.

  3. Select the plan you want to subscribe to (Pro or Max).

  4. Choose the payment plan you want, Weekly or Yearly.

  5. Select Continue.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your payment and start the subscription.

If you upgrade from Pro to Max, we will cancel your Pro account and refund for any remaining days. Your new Max plan begins immediately.

Example:

  • March 1st 2025:
You buy a yearly Pro subscription.

  • August 1st 2025:
You upgrade from yearly Pro to yearly Max.

  • September 1st 2025:
You are charged for the yearly Max subscription
You are refunded for the unused 7 months on your Pro subscription.

Downgrade your plan from Max to Pro

There are two ways to downgrade from Max to Pro:

  • Cancel and wait for Max to expire

  • Subscribe to Pro while Max is still valid

Cancel and wait for Max to expire

With this approach, you will get Max until the end of your subscription. At that point, it switches to the free plan and from there can upgrade to Pro.

  1. When the remaining time on your Max subscription expires, you will be switched to the free plan.

  2. When you are on the free plan, log in to Photoroom.

  3. Select the Get Pro badge.

  4. Select Pro.

  5. Select the Weekly plan or Yearly plan.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to make your payment.

Example:

  • March 1st 2025:
You buy a yearly Max subscription.

  • August 1st 2025:
You cancel your Max subscription. It will be canceled at the end of the plan.

  • March 1st 2026:
Your Max subscription ends. You are switched to the free plan.

  • March 1st 2026:
You upgrade from free to a yearly Pro subscription. You are billed for 1 year of Pro.

Subscribe to Pro while Max is still valid

With this approach, you will get Max until the end of your subscription. At that point, it automatically switches to the Pro plan and you will be billed for Pro.

  1. Log in to Photoroom while you are still on the Max plan.

  2. Select the Max badge.

  3. Select Manage my subscription.

  4. Select Change Plan.

  5. Select Photoroom in your Apple subscriptions.

  6. Select See All Plans.

  7. Select the Pro plan you want (weekly, yearly).

  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to make your payment.

When you have subscribed to Pro, you will continue to use Max until the Max subscription expires. At that point, Photoroom switches you to the Pro plan automatically. You will be billed for Pro and the billing cycle will continue, but with the Pro plan instead of Max.

Example:

  • March 1st 2025:
You buy a yearly Max subscription.

  • August 1st 2025:
You change your plan to a Pro subscription. Nothing changes at this point as you continue to use your Max subscription until it expires.

  • March 1st 2026:
Your Max subscription ends. You are switched to the Pro plan automatically. You are billed for 1 year of Pro.

Downgrade to the free plan

To downgrade from Max or Pro to free, you need to Cancel your subscription.

When the remaining time on your subscription expires, you will be switched to the free plan.

Example:

  • March 1st 2025:
You buy a yearly Max subscription.

  • August 1st 2025:
You cancel your Max subscription. It will be canceled at the end of the plan.

  • March 1st 2026:
Your Max subscription ends. You are switched to the free plan.

Change your weekly or yearly payments

You can change your subscription term from:

  • Weekly to yearly

  • Yearly to weekly.

In both cases, you need to cancel your subscription and then change your payment term when the subscription ends.

  1. When the remaining time on your Pro or Max subscription expires, you will be switched to the free plan.

  2. When you are on the free plan, log in to Photoroom.

  3. Select the Get Pro badge.

  4. Select Pro or Max, depending on which plan you want.

  5. Select the Weekly plan or Yearly plan.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to make your payment.

Example:

  • March 1st 2025:
You buy a weekly Pro subscription.

  • March 3rd 2025:
You cancel your Pro subscription. It will be canceled at the end of the plan.

  • March 7th 2025:
Your Pro subscription ends. You are switched to the free plan.

  • March 7th 2025:
You choose to upgrade from free to a yearly Pro subscription. You are billed for 1 year of Pro.

You can also manage your subscription from the App Store.

On your Apple device:

  1. Select Settings and then your name to view your account information.

  2. Select Subscriptions.

  3. Select Photoroom.

  4. Select See All Plans and then select the plan you want. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your subscription.
