Photoroom's Describe any change feature lets you use our AI to make changes to your photos. Just upload your image, choose a size, and describe the changes you want. Remove people from photos, add objects, change colors, it's up to you!

In the images below, we started with the photo of the orange chair and used Describe any change to create the other images.

Describe any change is one of the Image Transformation Tools.

Availability:

Web App version of Photoroom only.

Only in countries where Image Transformation Tools have been released.
Requires Pro or Max subscription.

Limits:

Each generation counts towards AI generation limit for Image Transformation Tools.


On Web App

To use Describe any change to alter a photo:

  1. Select the workspace you want to work in.

  2. Select AI Tools.

  3. Select Describe any change. If you can't see it, select the See all link in the Create images with AI section. Describe a change is included in the full list of AI features.

  4. Upload an image file, such as a product photo.

  5. Select the Size (Square, Portrait, or Landscape).

  6. Enter a description of the changes you want Photoroom's AI to create. The description is your "prompt" for the AI.

  7. Select Generate.
    Photoroom will generate 2 images.

  8. To generate more images, you can:

    1. Select Generate again.

    2. Make changes to the prompt and select Generate.

    3. Select one of the images that Photoroom has generated, then select Change something. Generate more variations using the same prompt or describe the changes you want in the prompt and then generate.

  9. When you have an image you like, select it.

  10. Use the options to make further adjustments:

    1. Remove background to toggle the background on and off.

    2. Change something to describe another change and generate a new, changed image.

    3. Retouch to remove part of the image or add something with AI. This works in the same way as when using Retouch on regular designs (see Remove unwanted objects with the Retouch tool).

    4. Resize to change the dimensions of the image.

  11. Select Use this image to open the image as a design in the editor.

  12. [Optional] Use the editor settings to make further changes, such as add text or graphics.

  13. [Optional] Select Download to download your design as an image file. Enter a filename, choose the file type, and select Download.

  14. Select Home to save your design and exit the editor.
