With Flat Lay, you can turn any clothing photo into a design that shows the clothing laid flat. It's perfect for presenting clothes in marketplace listings, web site listings, and on social media. This article gives an overview of the tool and explains its settings.
How it works:
You upload or choose an image to use with the Flat Lay tool. This is the source image.
You use the settings to guide Photoroom so that it can create the image you want.
Photoroom generates an image based on your image and choices.
You can then use the generated image as is or you can open it in the main editor to make further changes. You can also generate variations, if needed.

Settings for Flat Lay
When you access the Flat Lay tool, use the following settings to guide Photoroom.

Source image
Flat Lay needs a source image to use as a starting point. Depending on where you accessed the AI tool, you can:
Upload a photo of clothing
Select from recent uploads or AI generated images
Choose a clothing image that already exists in Photoroom
Take a photo and upload it (mobile only)
Use an AI tool to generate a clothing image (mobile only)
Select an image in a Batch
Select a product image in the Product editor (integration, such as Photoroom for Shopify).

Quality
The Quality setting affects image resolution, detail, AI credit usage, and how long the image takes to generate. For details, see Set the Quality of AI images.
Aspect ratio
This is sometimes labeled as Size. Use it to set the aspect ratio (shape) of the image, see Set the Aspect Ratio of AI images.
Brand (or Brand style)
Use to control whether the Brand description influences the AI when it generates your AI Fashion Models images. For details, see Control the influence of the Brand description.
Prompt
Use the prompt field to enter any other information for the AI, for example, "Show the top and skirt only. Do not include the necklace or belt."

Context menu settings
Each generated image has a context menu that contains options for working further with the image. For example, the standalone AI tools have options for creating variations and generating a video (depending on the Space subscription).
The context menu settings are common to all AI tools. The options available vary depending on whether you are using a standalone tool or an AI tool in the Batch editor or product catalog editor. You can learn about them in Context menu options for AI tools.
Review and edit settings
The review and edit screen only applies when using the standalone AI tools.
When you are ready to use an AI image, select it to display the review and edit settings. From here, you can download the image to use, make final changes, or open it in the main editor to make manual changes such as add text or graphics.
